Choose your Path
With vehicle technician roles at the RAC, your skills with vehicle maintenance and repair can help rescue drivers and get them road-ready — putting their plans back on track.
🛠️There’s two main types of vehicle technician roles — it all depends on what suits you.
- 🚨Path 1: Repair or safely recover roadside breakdowns as a Roadside Technician.
- 🛠️Path 2: Travel to customers’ homes to carry out scheduled repairs as a Mobile Vehicle Technician.
🌄 Whichever vehicle technician role you choose, you can get out of the garage and help customers on the open road, or on their driveways instead.
🗓️ We provide you with the work and a fully-kitted out vehicle. You bring the mechanical know-how to reassure customers with confidence, explain what’s happening in plain English, and get them ready to drive away with complete peace of mind.

You think on your feet. You’ll be trusted to represent the RAC among our driver community and deliver garage-quality service to each customer. Different jobs, different faces, new challenges every day.
You’ll need:
- 📜 A Level 2 light vehicle maintenance qualification (or equivalent)
